FU - explained

The Business Committee (abbreviated as FU) is responsible for the association’s day-to-day operations. It is here that the board’s work becomes reality, and where the big decisions are put into action in the form of the major events that we organize.

The chairman's duties primarily lie in the contact between the board and the business committee. In addition, the chairman is the immediate contact person for the association, for example to the management at SDU and external journalists. It is the chairman's responsibility to ensure that the association runs smoothly, that there are employees for the positions, and that the board is full and effective.

The Vice President’s primary responsibility lies in assisting the President. However, by tradition, the Vice President has his or her own focus on either the social or political aspects of the association. The Vice President participates, like the President, in meetings with the leadership and is the primary contact person for the association if the President is unavailable.

The coordinator of the Student Union of Southern Denmark is responsible for the primary contact with various associations locally at SDU and in Odense in connection with the association’s association network. The association coordinator is also partially responsible for the political network within the association among all the students who are elected to various councils and committees at SDU.

The Communications Manager has primary responsibility for the association’s internal and external communication. It is the person holding this position who is responsible for content and flow on social media, keeps the website up to date with relevant and updated information, and sometimes also helps with communication strategies and, if necessary, the execution of other events of the association. The Communications Manager’s tasks are therefore both numerous and varied.

This is the person responsible for planning and executing Denmark’s largest semester start party, which the Syddansk Studenterråd is responsible for hosting at SDU. This includes an organizing group of about 10 people to take on positions that include booking, security, wardrobe, space, volunteers, and communication.

This is the person responsible for planning and executing one of SDU’s largest events, Institutdysten, which the Syddansk Studenterråd is responsible for hosting on Student Day. This includes an organizing group of about 10 people who hold positions that deal with sponsors, space, volunteers, and the planning of all the competitions in terms of tournament schedules and rules for the competitions.

This is the person responsible for planning and executing one of SDU’s largest events, the Student Fair, which the Syddansk Studenterråd organises. The Student Fair is a study start event that the Syddansk Studerende hold annually to make students at SDU aware of some of the associations that exist at the university.

Since 2015, the Syddansk Studenterråd has helped Tinderbox find volunteers to stand in bars at the festival. The Tinderbox coordinator for the Syddansk Studenterråd is in charge of collecting these volunteers on behalf of the association and is responsible for the shift schedule and being present at the festival venue to ensure that everything runs smoothly. There are therefore a number of fixed and also flexible work tasks for the Tinderbox coordinator.
